On June 17th, ScienBiziP Group was invited to participate in the “Intellectual Property Link City Salon” Shenzhen station event hosted by INFOTRANS Yingfu Chuangsi. Liu Tianyi, the trademark agent and senior trademark consultant of ScienBiziP Group, attended the event and gave a keynote speech on “Cross border Enterprise Trademark Risk Prevention Strategies and Solutions”.
In recent years, more and more Chinese companies and brands have entered the global market. According to statistics, in 2021, China ranked as the second most active source country for overseas trademark applications worldwide with 2 million overseas trademark applications. However, at the same time, a large number of enterprises are facing risks in trademark use and rights protection during the process of going global. Ms. Liu Tianyi stated that currently only 0.03% of Chinese enterprises have independent intellectual property rights, and only 21% of Chinese exported products have their own trademarks. The frequent occurrence of domestic enterprise trademarks being registered overseas has led many overseas enterprises to be deeply mired in infringement lawsuits.
Based on more than ten years of practical experience, Ms. Liu has provided targeted solutions to address these risks, including building an intellectual property system, early layout, conducting risk assessments, precautions in trademark use, and strategies for responding to rush registration. She also introduced the application process and cases of trademarks in key overseas countries, providing effective references and practical measures for participating companies.
